YES! Thank you for the reminder - I'll tweet the biracial article out to students as well. In track, there's a young kid - he's half black. He and one other Japanese guy are very close to 10.0 in the 100. Part of the progress absolutely comes from better training protocols and weight training. It's interesting - there seems to be a huge uptick in the number of "half" people in Japan. But yeah, Japanese people aren't exactly racially sensitive so you get all kinds of asinine comments ALL THE TIME. I'd get comments when I was competing in masters swimming there - not overtly racist necessarily, but the "Oh, well, he's 'half' so it's no wonder he's good" kind of comments...

I really don't know how heavy the ruck is. Somewhere in the 100-150lb range, I think.

I've got to step things up a bit - the ruck carry left me essentially hobbled... Time is no longer an abundant commodity - started coaching again (just mornings though through the girls' high school season) + I'm in the classroom daily getting things ready).
