Thursday, November 24, 2011 Did some bottoms-up jerks and one-arm presses w. the 50lb scale weight... A few years ago, I did 20 presses - this year I did 10... A bit deflating to say the least. My great-grandfather apparently did 22 reps. I'll give it another shot this summer if there's a family reunion and I can make it. My upper back was really feeling the snatch-grip SLDLs btw.
Friday, November 25, 2011 SQ: bar x 10, 135lbs x 10 SQ (225lbs, 5:00): x6,6,8,4
Lower back didn't feel right and somehow my groove was off. Not surprisingly, my lower back is feeling it today.

Yeah, well they're.... light, but at least they're in there. Though far from perfect, things are starting to feel a little more dialed in lately.

This is worse than I did a week or two ago. Wasn't really feeling it going in, but needed to get some work in.

Sunday, December 4, 2011 SQ: bar x 10, 135lbs x 5, 205lbs x 3 SQ (5:00, 265lbs): x3,3,4
It's strange - the weights feel pretty good and the reps are fast, but the sets leave me winded more than they should. Also, squatting deeply w. a moderate weight is a little more of a mobility drill than it used to be. Ah well... Age and detraining will do that to you.
