Friday, August 12, 2011 Manta Ray SQ: bar x 10, bar + 1.5 chains x 10 Manta-Ray SQ (w. 2.5 chains): bar x 10, 135 x 5, 185lbs x 3 x 3sets
I've been walking probably 5+ miles a day with the new dog... It's nice to get some fresh air, but the time it chews up is a bit much.

Saturday, August 13, 2011Dan John's "The Eagle" (described toward the end of this article: www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/most_recent/goblet_squats_101 ) (FSQ x 5 + Farmer's Walk the length of my backyard w. pair of 24kg KBs) x 2 x 3sets Wind is the only issue with these - wow, my conditioning has gone down the tubes since I stopped doing high rep KB work...

Sounds interesting....and tough!
By the way, link doesn't work on click, but the text is right (i.e. I can copy and paste it and get to the article)

Thanks Pete - it should be fixed now. About 20 yards maybe? Probably not long enough - the farmer's are very easy.

Wednesday, August 17, 2011Dan John's "The Eagle" (described toward the end of this article: www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/most_recent/goblet_squats_101 ) (FSQ x 5 + Farmer's Walk the length of my backyard w. pair of 24kg KBs) x4, x2 Went pretty well. I would have done more, but a long day of work, familial & dog duties left me w. not a lot of pep to do more. I'll try to go to bed earlier tonight so I can hit it again tomorrow.

How have you found the addition of the 20+ miles walk a week to your general condition(ing) Boris?

I find it tiring Pete. I love the dog mind you, but the added loss of 1.5 hours/day is tough to get used to. People are commenting that I've lost weight and I probably have - I don't check the scale often, but last time I checked, I was weighing somewhere in the neighborhood of 180lbs. I can't remember the last time I weighed so little. As the saying goes: "Form follows function" It's why marathon runners, tour cyclists and other enduance atheletes are built like weak twigs. Sprinters like small oaks and... Strongmen like brick....well you get the idea. What's your 'normal' weight? Do you think the tirednesss is due to gettiong re-aquainted with the walking or too much volume in the total exercise deptartment? Food? Sleep? It's a fine line to walk between the full aerobic and pure power sides of the spectrum..... Dogs really are "man's best friend" Couldn't imagine life without our mutt! Peter

"Normal"... normal's tough to say - I don't think I've ever not been training for something, so I don't know. My normal weight as a competitive swimmer was something in the neighborhood of 155lbs. When I was powerlifting, it around 205lbs. With kettlebells, I suppose somewhere around 190lbs?
I'm tired right now because I'm getting used to the new routine of work, family, the dog, and slightly skewered sleep patterns. It'll get better.
Wednesday, August 25, 2011 Chins: x6 x 6sets
Right shoulder is kind of a mess right now.
