I received "The Purposeful Primitive" by Marty Gallagher in the mail on Thursday. First of all, great book. If you are looking for "answers" and Holy Grails, this ain't it. BUT, it has a ton of truly, truly gold nuggets throughout as Marty Gallagher talks about some of the greats in the strength game like Paul Anderson, Bob Benarski, Ed Coan, Dorian Yates, and Kirk Karwoski. Their training approaches are discussed and sample training sessions are presented. In addition to barbell work, there are large sections devoted to cardio methods, diet, and mental approach. In each respective section he references many great authors and coaches. I'll put a few quotes in the "Quote of the Week" subforum for a while. In summary: Good read. Learned a few things. Gives you many things to mull over. Well worth it. www.dragondoor.com/b37.html
