An of topic question, i wanted to know about writing and your view. Do you think it is better to write boring and formal or write in a semi-casual voice with occasional slur or insult?
To put it in context T-mag type of content or lets say BB.com type of articles?

T-mag has a lot of great writers, some (IMO) not-so-great. BB.com - I don't know. One thing I really don't care for is hyperbole and maybe it just comes with the fitness industry territory, but I want to punch authors through the computer screen when I read about the latest greatest routine, supplement, or way to do curls...
I like Siff, Zatsiorsky, Dreschler, Starr, Pavel, Rippetoe, and Dan John. Siff, Dreschler, and Zatsiorsky are all pretty dry, but good. Pavel, Starr, and Dan John tend to include more anecdotes and talk to the reader. Rippetoe can go either way.
It all depends on the subject matter and audience, I guess.

Well i strive to provide good content for my site, no crazy fads, not trying to sell you the latest this and that but provide clear and correct content without sounding too stuck up and entertaining people. That was the aim of Rawgrip, not to sift through the mountains of crap online but provide quality content.
Sometimes i come of as angry or too critical of people, so i was told. Anyways Boris i will send over what i have so far in my article.

I consider myself a very mediocre writer, so I don't know how much stock I'd put in my advice and opinions on the matter, but here they are:
*I avoid swearing in writting and in speech as well - once in a while (rarely) I use them to emphasize something or to shock, but almost always there's a better way to communicate the point
*Writing is just like anything else - you have to practice it A LOT. Writing often, and re-writing/re-working a piece is a long process.
*Full blown articles that are cohesive, complete, and well-written are a lot harder to write than blog entries or forum posts. I know I take way more time than a lot of people to type out responses at message boards, but even on message boards I am cutting and pasting, deleting and rewriting frequently. Message board posts can take an hour. Blog posts take several hours or more usually spread out over days or weeks. Short articles take me a LONG time.
btw, none of these pieces of advice necessarily apply to you Ant - just writing in general. Stephen King's "On Writing..." is a great book.
