Coach Rippetoe is THE BEST. I call him to ask for input about the Squat Rx videos and he talks with me for AN HOUR about form, coaching, and lifting. Just a great, great guy. Our conversation covered a lot, but one of the things we talked about (because I brought it up) was his article in the most recent CrossFit Journal titled "Strong Enough?". Oversimplifying things here, but the gist is that a lot of coaches let strength training go by the wayside in their quest for perfect technique, not just in sports like swimming or tennis, but also in...take a breath... weightlifting! Great, great article and it was nice to tell him I thought so personally. Another thing we talked about was this: media.crossfit.com/cf-video/CrossFit_RipDLAnatomy.wmv Again, great stuff. Coach Rippetoe has a way of breaking things down to essentials that is an absolute requisite to being a great coach. It all sounds so commonsense, but it isn't and having getting to discuss it was priceless. I'm planning on buying his new book (coming out soon) - www.aasgaardco.com/store/store.php?crn=206 and hopefully I'll make it to one of his seminars sometime.

Lucky you! Listening to/reading Rippetoe is like having someone turn the light on.
