Thanks for being here!
Actually, it'd be nice to have some more people. Hell, I'd be happy even if Achilles started posting - we'd agree on nothing, but at least he'd make it interesting!

He ain't the only one. There's a couple kids over there. Ever notice his signature?
Then look at mine. I saw his and changed mine. We got in a tiffy once. Slight one and I apologize once I realized (although he never told me) he's a young greenhorn.
Been awhile. I can't remember what it was about but the way he carried on it dawned on my dumb ass... "oh he's a kid" like that Big Angry kid.
The problem as with many of the kids is that they are too egotistical to come right out and ask for it but they are seeking my advice. I give it in a way that won't bruise their green little egos, and then they get arguementative. I don't mind debate but after all my years of killing my body and hoisting thousands of pounds I am like "listen boy" you asked and I'll tell you.
I am only 30 but been training for 17 years+. I had an attitude but when even as a teen I had respect for my elders. I shut up and listened. Especially when it was from someone who lifted like I can. Not to sound conceited but d**n, these kids got no respect these days. I know they didn't have much more when I was young but I always did. I was raised in a dojo and had old school elder Japanese Senseis and my main Sensei was from Lithuania. All very old school. I shut up and listened. Always had respect. Sure I smarted off, then got smacked for it.
Seems these kids know a lot less than I did and have zero respect. Oh well. Thats why I just mess with them anymore.

I certainly understand where you're coming from...
I know we will sound like two grumpy not-that-old men, but here's my two cents on the matter.
I think that the problem is actually complex and has grown since the Vietnam War. I think that the reactionary attitude of the sixties gave way to confusion and cynicism in the 70s and withdrawal and isolationism in the 80s. Their children are the future leaders of today... Parents today are quick to defend their children even when they are wrong and slow to discipline. They let their kids make foolish decisions and act like immature little a-holes and then wonder why they keep making foolish decisions and acting like immature little a-holes. The answer is because they are kids and need firm guidance! ...but, who am I to say this to them...
Anyway, my parents ruled over me w. an iron fist and my mother was not a mentally healthy individual, so I guess I wouldn't recommend that kids be brought up the way I was. I did take Tae Kwon Do for 6 years and had a Korean instructor who would not hesitate to literally beat the hell out of me if I acted arrogantly or heard about me mouthing off to an elder, etc. I think he was one of the best things to ever happen to me when I was 11-17 years old.

I agree. Like my dad, a baby boomer said "my generation f***** up the country.
I guess I just can't believe kids anymore. I got 3 and raise them old school. Spankings if needed, etc. Respect is a must.
I keep thinking of that Big Angry kid and his rants and rants about nothing.
Then Hercules vigorously debating nothing. Arching is to benching what a supinated grip is to pulling. Then he throws in lifting the butt up. I mean he has no clue but instead of asking and talking he starts cussing and getting beligerent.
Funny shyte.

Yeah, I don't understand that. Some novices never acknowledge this, but they don't want to admit that they lack experience or knowledge EVER, EVER, EVER... Instead, when they get in a tough or confusing spot, they get pissed and defensive. To be honest, I'm still not sure if Achilles was genuinely trying to ask a question about arching, or just trying to be an opinionated a-hole... Maybe, he'll tell us...

As I said I had gone through this before with at least 3 other kids. Now many other websites have people who come on there and pretend to be serious only to start messing with people. That can be funny. Having said that these guys come across like everyone else, even speaking as though they are like the rest of the guys, experienced and well versed in the game of PL'ing. Then they not only come out of left field with some ridiculous statement, the argue and try back up these ridiculous (to me at least) statements and poor advice as though it were the gospel. It is as though (like many idiots I have met) they went into the gym and picked out their role from thin air. Such as BB'ing is gay or whatever so I am now a PL'er, having no idea what it really is all about. Then they immediately hurl insults and puff out their chests as though they make sense. The funny thing is if they actually were aware of how stupid they sound and how their observations and comments are truly representative of those they claim not to be, an average wanna be and a gym rat.
